Thing 23 - The End
I can't believe that I actually finished all 23 things. When I first read about the challenge I thought okay this sounds interesting, but then I looked at it and said no way this is much too complicated for me. My branch manager challenged our branch to take on the challenge, so I signed up. What a wealth of knowledge is out there that I had no idea about. Some of the "things" I really didn't like or feel that I would have any use for, like technorati, or social bookmarking. Others I thought were great like the Web Apps, Library Thing and World Cat. Overall I would say it was very worthwhile to take on the challenge and finish it. It was a great team building tool for our branch as well. We were all working together to help each other when we were stuck and everyone was rooting for each other to finish. Thanks for giving us the Challenge.
Listen NJ - Thing 22
I went to Listen NJ, which is really not new for me. I had some training when the library first started using Listen NJ so I was pretty familiar with it. After much trouble I downloaded my book and listened to some of it. It really is a pretty amazing service that we offer to the public, especially in this age of MP3 players.

Podcasts - Thing 21
I went to podcast.com looked around searched for podcasts but nothing really caught my interest. I then did a google search and came up with the podcast sites for MSNBC & CNN. I was able to watch and listen to the first hour of the Today Show from this morning. Very nice thing. CNN updates every hour so instead of just reading the breaking news you can hear it too. Very good.

You Tube - Thing 20
I watched the video on the history of youtube and those guys were really clever to think of something like this.
I searched youtube which I have done before and I came across this video when I typed dance in the subject. I thought this video was really neat to watch and the song was good as well.

Web 2.0 Awards - Thing 19
Well, I looked through the Web 2.0 awards, a lot were not of any interest to me, but I did pull up Pandora and was listening. I did enjoy the music that they played. I put my favorite artist in as Rod Stewart and they just kept the music coming with all songs that I enjoyed.
The web 2.0 award that I really like was Onesentence.org. I pulled it up because it looked rather interesting and I was hooked. I couldn't stop reading the one sentence stories. Some were sad, some were funny and some didn't make sense but I was addicted. I will definitely keep on reading that one.

Web Apps - Thing 18
Wow, that is really cool. I think that this is definitely something I will use. I do think that it can be helpful in the branch for typing meeting notes up that need approval before they are sent out so it can be easily edited. Thanks for sharing this with us.

Sandbox
Well, that was pretty fun. I added a link to my blog which was pretty easy to do. I only needed a little bit of help but just to make sure that I was doing it right.
This wiki seemed a little bit easier than the ones I looked at for Thing 16. I think that using Wikis like this could be beneficial for work on committees or like the Albany County Library uses it for policies and procedures with their staff.
